LAHORE: Secretary Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) Rana Sarwar, in a press conference on Thursday, told that a 22-member Punjab kabaddi team will depart for Iran on Friday (today).
Director Sports Shahid Nizami, Secretary Punjab Kabaddi Association Tahir Waheed Jatt, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman and Brand Manager Fatima Fertilizers M Mubeen were also present in the press conference held at National Hockey Stadium.
Addressing the press conference Secretary PKF Rana Sarwar informed that Punjab kabaddi team will play three Test matches against hosts Iran and also take part in joint kabaddi training camp at Iranian city Tabriz during the 10-day tour. PKF Secretary Rana Sarwar expressed his hope that these kabaddi competitions will play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran. He also thanked Punjab Minister for Sports Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh for extending every kind of cooperation for the promotion of kabaddi in the province. “Sports Board Punjab has always played a key role for the growth of traditional game of kabaddi. SBP also organized several kabbadi events including International Kabaddi Taakra in the past,” he added.
Director Sports Shahid Nizami, on this occasion, said kabaddi is one of the most favourite games of young generation and Sports Board Punjab has always offered maximum cooperation for the holding of kabaddi events.
