Two awarded 25-year jail for double murder

GUJRANWALA: Additional Sessions Judge Zahid Ghaznavi on Wednesday awarded 25-year imprisonment and Rs 200,000 fine each to Naveed and Javed in a double murder case registered with Noshera Virkan police.
The court acquitted co-accused Sanaullah, giving him the benefit of the doubt. The prosecution said that the convicts had killed Adnan and Irfan over a minor issue at Argan village on December 30, 2009.
Five-year-old missing child found dead

GUJRANWALA: A missing child was found dead here.
Abdullah, 5, had come to the house of his grandmother at Kashmir Colony some days ago. He had been missing for the last two days. On Wednesday, police found his body floating in a pond at Kashmir Colony.
The death seemed to be accidental as the child might have fallen in the pond while playing around it. Sadr police have handed over the body to the family after completing legal formalities.

GUJRANWALA: Anti-Terrorism Court No-2 Judge Bushra Zaman on Wednesday resumed the hearing of Daska lawyers killing case in the Central Jail.
The judge recorded statements of three more prosecution witnesses and adjourned the hearing for July 25 for cross examination. The accused, former Inspector Shahzad Warraich, had killed two lawyers in Daska.
