PHC restores LRH Paediatric Dept head
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has restored Associate Professor of the Lady Reading Hospital Dr Musa Kalim as chairman of Paediatric Department by suspending the notification relieving him as the chairman of the department. A division bench comprising Justice Ikramullah Khan and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah suspended the notification by the dean of LRH MTI, issued on June 6, 2019, appointing junior Assistant Professor Paediatric Department Amir Muhammad as acting chairman of the department. During arguments, Zartaj Anwar, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the petitioner is a renowned paediatrician (children specialist) of the province. He submitted that first the Peshawar High Court allowed his writ petition against his relieving order by the dean LRH and declared his removal as chairman of the Paediatric Department illegal and issued his restoration order on October 23, 2017. He submitted that in compliance with the court order, the hospital management withdrew the relieving notification and restored the petitioner as chairman of the department on June 19, 2019. The lawyer submitted that the malafide intention of the respondents clearly reflects through a notification on the same day on June 19 by notifying Dr Amir Muhammad, assistant professor, as acting chairman of the department.
