PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter with the help of volunteers assisted hundreds of flood affected people in Chitral during the last few days. A press release said the PRCS carried out the rescue and relief activities in the remote valleys of Bamburet and Rambur in coordination with the district administration and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). It also distributed relief items worth Rs2 million among 29 households in flood-hit Orghoch village. The per family package included one tent, kitchen and hygiene set and wood burning stove, two water jerry cans, tarpaulin sheets and mosquito nets and eight blankets. The non-food items would be distributed among the affected people in Bamburet valley and Garam Chashma soon, the statement added.
