The Sindh government on Wednesday appointed Muhammad Waseem as the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s administrator, relieving Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqqui of the additional charge.
Waseem had been serving as the secretary of planning and development and home departments.
The post has been filled and vacated at least thrice during the past month. After Saqib Ali Soomro’s mysterious disappearance from office and the country a couple of months ago, the charge was handed over to Roshan Ali Shaikh between June 25 and June 26 via a notification by the Chief Secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon. Shaikh retained his post as the director of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board simultaneously. However, later, Shaikh was removed from the post.
