‘Police, armed forces determined to crush terrorism’

MULTAN: Corps Commander II Corps Lt-Gen Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmad has said that police and armed forces are determined to crush terrorism from the country and will finally win the combat against terrorism. Addressing senior police officers and Jawans during his visit to Multan Police Lines to pay homage to the martyred policemen on Sunday, he said that the operation against the terrorism networks would continue till the elimination of the last terrorist. He paid homage to the martyred policemen, saying that the whole nation was proud of them. He said that the professional skilfulness and expertise, timely intelligence sharing and quick action were must in fight against terrorism to defeat the merchants of hell. He said that cooperation between police and army was essential for the survival of the motherland. He said that the security forces had achieved more than the expectations in the battle against terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, Regional Police Officer Tariq Masood Yasin paid tributes to the soldiers fighting against terrorism and sacrificing their lives for the bright future of the country. He appreciated the role of armed forces in defence of the country.
Earlier, Lt-Gen Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmad laid a floral wreath at the monument of martyred policemen and offered Fateha.
LABOURER RECEIVES BURNS: A labourer received burns when fire erupted in a shoe factory on Vehari Road on Monday.
The shoe factory caught fire when a nearby transformer exploded with a bang. As a result, labourer Khadim Hussain, who was working in the factory, received burns. The fire burnt shoes worth millions of rupees to ashes. The injured labourer was shifted to a hospital.
