LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said that present distressing plight of the Muslim Ummah demanded that the faithful strengthened their faith and rose above minor differences to forge unity to be able to face the challenges from the infidels.
In his Eid message to the Muslims, he said Eidul Fitr marked the culmination of the sacred month of Ramazan and the revelation of the last divine book.He said the Muslim Ummah was facing innumerable problems at present. The US and its allies were shedding the blood of the Muslims in Afghanistan, Kashmir, Palestine, Egypt and Syria, and hundreds of the faithful were being put to death every day. What was more shameful, he said. Was the fact that the rulers of the Muslim states including Pakistan were advancing the US agenda instead of trying to solve the Ummah’s problems. Internally, this country was confronted with the problem of corruption, which was making the rich richer and the poor poorer. The situation only demanded that the Muslims renewed their faith and tried their best to convert their weakness into strength in the light of Allama Iqbal’s message. The JI chief also urged the wealthy to adopt austerity on Eid, avoid unnecessary spending and also share their joys of the occasion with the poor and the helpless.
