Firdous says not legally bound to stay in PPP
From Our Correspondent
SIALKOT: PPP leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that she is not legally bound, like a marriage contract, to stay with the party forever; however, she has no intention to quit the party at present.
Addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Kashmir Road on Sunday, she categorically ruled out any recent meetings with Reham Khan, the wife of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, and said that it was not true that she was going to join the PTI. She said that she would inform her voters and supporters in case she decided to quit the PPP and join any other party. She said that her actual mission was to help and serve the poor masses of her constituency and for that purpose affiliation with any political party did no matter.
She said that she told PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari about the wrongdoings of the PPP Punjab leaders during her recent meeting with him in Karachi. She said that Bilawal Bhutto had taken notice of her complaints and assured her that strict action would soon be taken against the party leaders responsible for severe setback to the PPP in the province.
