Nawaz to take parliament into confidence on Ufa meet
NA to be called on 27th to discuss interactions between SCO leaders, outcome of summit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will take Parliament into confidence on his meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the presidents of China, Russia and Afghanistan in the Russia city Ufa and Pakistan’s joining Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Highly-placed parliamentary sources told The News that the National Assembly would be summoned soon after Eidul Fitr where interactions between the SCO leaders and the outcome of the summit would be discussed.
The Senate will also be in session during the days to discuss these things, the sources said.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz will brief Parliament about the Two plus One plus Two dialogue on Afghanistan and Pakistan’s role in the same.
The sources said the government would host a debate in Parliament on the prime minister’s visit to Russia and the SCO summit so that all aspects of foreign policy related should become open.
Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has confirmed that the National Assembly session is being summoned on July 27 where important issues of national importance would come under discussion.
Meanwhile, Sartaj Aziz will meet national and international media tomorrow (Monday) to explain the meetings of prime minister with the world leaders in Ufa and the outcome of the SCO summit.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi is not well after returning home from Norway and Russia. He is running a temperature and has been advised complete bed rest.
