The role of the government – both central and provincial – in the recent heatwave crisis was dismal to say the least. However, it was a delight to see that the heatstroke victims in almost all hospitals were being facilitated by benevolent people belonging to every field of life – students, professionals, philanthropists, etc. Everyone came together to serve one and only one purpose: to rescue the suffering citizens of Karachi.
The efforts made by the people of Karachi deserve to be acknowledged by the government. But there is more to be done.
