PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday issued arrest warrant for director Elementary and Secondary Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for non-compliance with the court orders regarding appointment of primary schoolteachers. A two-member bench comprising Mrs Justice Irshad Qaisar and Justice Muhammad Daud Khan issued the non-bailable arrest warrant. A candidate for the PTC seat, Naveed Khan had filed the contempt of court petition against the director Education Department. The petitioner’s lawyer submitted that the petitioner and others had challenged the provincial government’s policy under which five additional marks were given to candidates of science group in appointments of PTC teachers. The lawyer said that the director Education filled various posts through fresh appointments and ignored the petitioner and others despite the court order to appoint them on vacant seats.
