FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Engineer Rizwan Ashraf Friday welcomed the proposal of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) to provide qualified chartered accountants to the SME sector.
Addressing a ‘Corporate Networking Function arranged by the ACCA, Rizwan said the proposal would help quicken pace of the sector.
Chief Executives and Chief Financial Officers of the major corporate sector entities of Faisalabad also attended the function.
The FCCI chief said Faisalabad is strategically located in the heart of Pakistan and we could have direct access to any part of the country just within few hours. He said it is very encouraging that the ACCA has now recognized the importance of Faisalabad and opened its office here.
He said country is facing a deep crisis, however, macroeconomic indicators have improved considerably and now we have to make efforts to ensure its trickledown effect to the downstream.
He termed SME sector as engine of growth, saying that induction of certified chartered accountants into this sector will generate much needed economic activity.
He said we could easily achieve this target by upgrading our SME sector.
Junaid Ahmed, head ACCA, north region, highlighted the role of the ACCA in ensuring financial discipline and management. He said due to importance of Faisalabad the ACCA office has been established just eight months ago in Faisalabad which will help us to cultivate good working relations with the industrial and commercial houses. Later, certificates were distributed among chartered accountants.
