Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab, Lahore Region, on Friday caught an ASI of Sarwar Road Police Station for taking bribe from an Assistant Superintendent, district Jail Jehlum.
According to ACE officials, a jail official named Rana Latif had submitted a complaint with ACE Lahore Region alleging that an ASI named Nasrullah had demanded Rs10,000 for excluding the name of his brother from an FIR.
According to Rana, the police officer was also demanding more money for the favour after collecting Rs 10,000.
ACE Lahore officials, conducted a trap raid and arrested the accused ASI from outside Sarwar Road police station when he was accepting Rs 10,000 in bribe on Friday.
After registering an FIR against the ASI, further investigations were underway.
druggists: Assistant Director FIA Lahore Asif Ali Mian on Friday conducted a raid at Okara and recovered spurious and unregistered drugs from the business premises of M/s Imran Medical Company, Okara.
According to FIA officials, a case has been registered and two persons namely Adnan Ali s/o Ali Hassan and Muhammad Usman s/o Ali Hassan have been arrested on the spot. A four-day physical remand has been granted by a Drug Court Lahore on Friday.

software: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched a rigorous programme of giving hands-on training of operating E-register software programme to school heads associated with the Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) in Punjab.
According to the PEF spokesperson, E-register is a pilot project of computerized monthly attendance system for the school partners.
Under the programme, three different training sessions were held in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi on Friday in which school heads were taught about operating the software programme by the PEF staff.
This training session will continue until July 15 and a total of 1,362 EVS partners will attend it in phases.
Meanwhile, PEF Managing Director Dr Aneela Salman has welcomed the system and hoped that this would further help to maintain transparency in the Punjab Education Foundation system.
She expressed hope that school partners would take full advantage of the opportunity to efficiently operate the software.
