FAISALABAD: The Professional Education Foundation (PEF) has provided scholarships for 18 students of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad for the academic year 2014-15.
University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan distributed cheques worth Rs 1,080,000 (Rs 60,000 for each student). Speaking on the occasion, UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that since 2012, total 57 UAF students had got scholarship under the PEF worth Rs 2,601,620. He lauded the role of the PEF for educational cause. He said that education was the only tool that could bring prosperity and development in the country. He said that the UAF was an agriculture and educational institution meant for agriculture, rural development and food security of the country. Around 35 per cent students of the UAF were getting scholarships to continue their studies, he informed. He said that financial sponsorship for deserving students helped bring a positive and healthy social change. Financial Aid Director Dr Hafeez Sadaqat said that the UAF was extending financial assistance to needy and deserving students in the shape of scholarship programme, internship programme, work-study programme and the students’ loan scheme.
