Dangerous nexus

This refers to the editorial, ‘Dangerous nexus’ (June 13). The reaction of our mainstream political parties on the report of the DG Rangers is beyond comprehension. They have termed the report a collection of unfounded accusations.
Normally, such accusations are never made by highly responsible officials without any solid evidence collected during investigations. Each and every resident of Karachi has either experience or knowledge of the money collected through crime and extortion. A well thought-out campaign and political will to clean Karachi of crime and extortion – as suggested in the editorial – is the only way to revive normalcy in Karachi. However, that will be possible only when our interests take precedence over political expediency.
