Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) senior central leader and former Chief Minister Punjab Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the government had broken all previous records of loadshedding after giving a faithful good news of no loadshedding at Sehr and Iftar time. In a statement issued on Saturday, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the N-League government had been claiming to end loadshedding but practically it had not yet launched any project which might reduce or end loadshedding. He further said that claim of generating 1,000 megawatt of power from Nandipur and other projects proved false. He said billions of rupees were spent on Nandipur project, but it was not functional and generation of 100 megawatt of power from Quaid-i-Azam Solar Project had also turned out to be a white lie as only 18 megawatt was being produced from it. The government’s apathy can well be judged from the fact that it has totally ignored the energy sector in the new budget. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the present rulers had bee saying that loadshedding of electricity would be ended in six months but their claims had proven otherwise. He added the rulers were now pacifying the people after plunging the country into darkness that they prayed for rain as we could not do anything.
