Welcoming the National Assembly’s unanimously passing the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Nusrat Wahid has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan understands the frustration and depression of residents of former Fata and has been trying to address the issue.
The National Assembly had unanimously passed the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill on Monday, formalising an increase in the number of seats for the erstwhile Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in the National Assembly and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
MNA Wahid said that the people of tribal areas faced immense difficulties and rendered sacrifices for the elimination of terrorism and the country was proud of them.
Congratulating Prime Minister Khan on the successful completion and approval of the amendment bill by the joint session of the parliament, she said that for the first time in the country’s history, a private amendment bill had been adopted unanimously and it was a significant achievement of the PTI’s government. She said that after the independence of the country, it was only the PTI’s government that had taken bold steps to resolve issues of the tribal areas and its residents.
