NAB summons Bilawal in Park Lane case on May 17
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the Park Lane case on May 17, Geo News reported.
This will be Bilawal’s second appearance before the NAB after he was summoned along with his father — former president Asif Ali Zardari — on March 20. During that appearance, the NAB said in a press release that Bilawal and Zardari were questioned by the combined investigation team (CIT) under the supervision of Director General NAB (Rawalpindi) Irfan Mangi for approximately two hours in three cases.
The NAB also handed a questionnaire to the two on three cases and informed that this should be submitted to the CIT within 10 days. —News Desk
APP adds: The NAB submitted a report to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday containing details of inquiries and investigations against PPP Co-chairman Zardari.
The report said arrest warrants had been issued against the former president in one case, adding Zardari’s name had been surfaced in three other inquiries and five investigations. It said only two references had so far been filed against the former president and added six other cases were in the process of investigation or inquiries. It may be mentioned here that the IHC had sought details from the NAB on April 29 regarding the under process inquiries and investigations against the PPP co-chairman. Separately, an accountability court again sought reply from the NAB till May 21 in petitions seeking post-arrest bails of former Karachi Stock Exchange chairman Hussain Lawai and Taha Raza in fake accounts case, and adjourned the hearing till the said date.
