ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Muhammad Asif Bajwa got vote of confidence from executive board and has immediately decided to publish PHF accounts detail on the website after every three months.
PHF President Brig (r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar presided over the board meeting on Monday, which was attended by the secretaries of hockey associations of all four provinces, PHF vice presidents and general manager women wing.
Asif Bajwa’s name was proposed by Zahir Shah, KP Hockey president, and was backed by Sindh Hockey Association.
“I would take along all the provinces in an effort to restructure hockey in the country. Today is the new beginning in Pakistan hockey where the respect for every stakeholder of the game would be the key word,” Asif Bajwa said after getting vote of confidence.
He said after getting approval from the house he had decided to publish entire earning and expenditures of the federation on PHF website after every three months. “Soon we would host the National Hockey Championship with venue to be decided in ten days time.”
Asif Bajwa said that he was not responsible of any misappropriation of funds in the past as he was not a part of PHF during the last four years. “Whosoever has done anything wrong should be responsible for his deeds. Forensic audit is already underway. Guilty will have to face the music.”
He said that for the restoration of the game all provinces will have to work together. The board and PHF president have decided that details of the federation accounts will be issued on the PHF website quarterly, definitely.
“The PHF has made a big mistake when it decided to stay out of FIH Pro League as it led to a heavy fine. We will see how the matter can be resolved. I would talk to the FIH president Narinder Batra in this regard,” the secretary said.
