Shaheed Package for 26 police martyrs’ families approved
LAHORE: The Punjab government approved “Shaheed Package” for the families of 26 police martyrs, including five martyrs of Data Darbar blast. Inspector General Police Punjab, Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan got approval of Shuhada Package for families of five police martyrs of Data Darbar blast and other 21 police martyrs. Their cases were pending for last eight months and within coming few days cheques of financial support will be issued to the families of 26 police martyrs including of Data Darbar blast.
The IG said that families of police martyrs are like my own family and I cannot abandon them at any cost or in any situation. Best welfare of families of martyrs is my first preference and I am advocating for them at every forum.
He expressed these views after getting approval of “Shaheed Package” for families of 26 police martyrs, including the martyrs of Data Darbar blast. He thanked the Punjab government for the support and cooperation. It is worth mentioning here that due to the special efforts and personal interest of IGP, the Punjab government approved welfare package for the families of 21 police martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty in different districts of Punjab while protecting the life and property of public. The package was approved for families of eight martyrs from Lahore, seven from Rawalpindi, three from Faisalabad, two from Sargodha and one each from the districts of Bahawalpur, Khushab, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Khanewal. Name of the martyrs are ASI Shafqat Ali Shaheed, ASI Sajjad Haider Shaheed, ASI Muhammad Riaz Shaheed, Head Constable Sajid Mahmood Shaheed, Head Constable Muhammad Sohail Shaheed, Head Constable Shahid Nazir Shaheed, Head Constable Gulzar Ali Shaheed, Head Constable Muhammad Arif Shaheed, Head Constable Faizullah Shaheed, Traffic Warden Shahid Sarwar Shaheed, Head Constable Asif Iqbal Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Bilal Shaheed, Constable Khalid Ameer Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Mazhar Shaheed, Constable Asif Sultan Shaheed, Constable Omar Usman Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Afzaal Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Jamil Shaheed, Constable Asghar Ali Shaheed, Constable Ansar Mahmood Shaheed, Constable Farmaish Ali Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Abid Ali Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Iqbal Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Zafran Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Salim Shaheed, Constable Muhammad Saddam Shaheed.
Polio workers security: Lahore Police chalked out a comprehensive security plan for the safety of polio workers during the polio vaccination campaign launched in 94 Union Councils of the city.
This was stated by SSP Operations Lahore Ismael-ur-Rehman Kharak who chaired a review meeting regarding security arrangements, held here in the Committee Room of DIG Operations office. SP VVIP Security Naveed Irshad, DSPs, all divisional OSIs and inspectors deputed on security duties for polio workers attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that Security Branch of Lahore Police chalked out a security plan for the polio vaccination campaign under the supervision of SP Security Faisal Shehzad which will be implemented in letter and spirit.

City Division Police registered 123 cases, Cantt Division 93, Civil Lines Division 91, Sadar Division 71, Iqbal Town Division 48 whereas Model Town Division Police registered 90 FIRs during their crackdown.
