Pakistan Rangers Punjab handed over 113 released Indian fishermen to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) as a goodwill gesture on Friday.
The Edhi Foundation provided travelling facility to the prisoners from Karachi to Lahore. Saad Edhi, grandson of Abdul Sattar Edhi, accompanied them across the way amid tight security.
The Foundation also provided food and other things to the released prisoners.
flour bags: Abu Dhabi Campus, Rahimyar Khan, handed over 1,000 bags of flour as a Ramazan gift to the Punjab Rangers on the special direction of Shaikh Zayed bin Nahayan on Friday. These bags of flour have been offered in recognition of the Punjab Rangers Jawans’ defending Pakistan borders in the warm desert of Cholistan.
These bags will be added to the Ramazan package already given by Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Major General Umar Farooq Burki and distributed to the far-off border Posts of Cholistan. The DG Punjab Rangers appreciated the kind act of Shaikh Zaid bin Nihan.
Accidents: At least 721 road traffic accidents were reported to the Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all the 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which eight lives were lost and 610 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of the relevant districts. However, some 253 minor injured were provided first aid by the Rescue 1122 on the spot.
According to data provided by the PMC, 249 drivers, 41 underage drivers, 167 pedestrians and 451 passengers were among the injured of these road traffic accidents.
The statistics show 147 RTAs were reported to Lahore Control Room, which affected 151 persons placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 66 RTAs in Faisalabad with 84 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 55 RTAs and 61 victims.
Details further show that total 869 persons were affected by the road traffic crashes including 709 males and 160 females, while the age group of the affected persons showed that 119 were under the 18 years of age, 539 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 211 injured people were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 532 motorbikes, 102 auto rickshaws, 77 motorcars, 47 vans, nine passenger buses, 32 trucks and 90 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts involved in the aforesaid road traffic accidents.
