PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani on Monday awarded the Kohat Range police officers and jawans at a ceremony held at Central Police Office for performing well against proclaimed offenders. An official statement said the station house officer of the Latamber police station in Karak district had received information about the presence of dreaded proclaimed offender Imam Hassan wanted to police in 21 heinous crimes in his house at Alamsheri village. The police party headed by the SHO raided the house. The proclaimed offender seeing the police party opened fire on the police due to which the SHO and two constables suffered bullet injuries. Later, one constable Sher Ayaz succumbed to his injuries. After half an hour-long encounter, the proclaimed offender Iman Hassan was killed. Four hand grenades, one Kalashnikov and one wireless pocket phone were recovered from his possession. Similarly in another encounter, cops from the Bilitang police station, in Kohat district killed a hardened criminal Wali Muhammad, resident of Daudkhel in a firing clash with the police at Shadikhel. The proclaimed offender was wanted to the Kohat police in several murders, attempted-murders, firing on security forces and extortion cases. The police also recovered a Kalashnikov and three hand grenades from his possession.Addressing on the occasion, IGP Nasir Khan Durrani appreciated the extraordinary performance, professionalism and bravery of the Karak and Kohat police in these cases.
