LAHORE: City Division police have arrested as many as 272 criminals and recovered 43 pistols, seven rifles, 388 bullets, more than nine kilograms of Charas and 1,616 litres of liquor.
Police have busted nine gangs and arrested its 26 members along with recoveries worth six lakh rupees from them. Moreover, 19 proclaimed offenders of A&B categories in cases of dacoity, theft, cheque dishonour, fraud and other crimes were arrested. Police also arrested 116 criminals for violating kite flying, rental and loudspeaker acts.
PSCA: Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) continues to provide technical assistance and support to other security organisations across the country. PSCA was recently been requested by Islamabad safe city project (ISCP) for help in up gradation. PSCA’s team have visited Islamabad Safe City Project twice and shared important draft for up gradation of the project on modern lines.
These views were expresses by Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir Khan while presiding over a meeting. He said PSCA would provide technical assistance in the up gradation of Islamabad Safe City Project.
accidents: Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 976 road accidents during the last 24 hours.
Eight people died, whereas 1,116 were injured in the said accidents. Out of the injured, 655 with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, whereas 461 with minor injuries were provided the first-aid by the rescue teams.
IG: Katcha-like areas across province will be purged of dacoits, thieves and criminals and such elements of the society will be eliminated. For this purpose, crime fighter officers have been selected and also deputed over these areas so that they may protect people without any fear. During operation in Katcha area this year, around 1,000 acre land bearing wheat crop has been dispossessed from the dacoits and handed over to its real owners.
These views were expressed by Punjab IG Amjad Javed Saleemi during a telephonic call regarding operation in area of Katcha with DG Khan RPO Muhammad Umar Sheikh. Umar told the IG Punjab due to crop of sugar cane from December to March every year and rise of water level in rivers in moth of May, the operation against dacoits was not possible.
