TANK: A man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife and four children in Mohallah Qazianwala which is a densely populated locality in the city, police and hospital sources said on Tuesday.
Registering the first information report (FIR) Tasleemullah told the police that his brother Said Rasool who was a goldsmith killed his wife Halima Bibi, 47, daughter Sobia Bibi, 22, son Suleman, 19, daughter Umaira Gul, 13.
He said that his daughter Kiran Bibi, 15 and son Usman, 11, sustained critical injuries in the firing. The man said that Said Rasool ended his life after killing his wife and children. The injured and dead were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank wherefrom the injured were referred to the DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan in a precarious condition.
Kiran Bibi succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital. The relatives of Said Rasool said that he was once a successful businessman but he had borrowed money from usurers and had gone bankrupt. He could not pay back the borrowed money and took the extreme step in desperation.
