ISLAMABAD: Defending champion Army will face Police in the opening match of Inter-Departmental Basketball Championship starting from tomorrow (Wednesday) here at Hamidi Hall of Pakistan Sports Complex.
According to championship organising secretary Ouj E Zahoor, as many as seven departments including Army, PAF, Navy, Wapda, Railways, Police and POF Wah will take part in the championship, which is being organised by Federal Basketball Association under the auspices of Pakistan Basketball Federation and with the help of Pakistan Sports Board & PEPSI CO Pakistan.
“Pool A comprises Army, Police and POF Wah while Wapda, PAF, Railways and Navy teams will be in action in Pool B”, he said, adding that semi-finals will be played on April 13 while the final will be held on April 14.
Zahoor said that eight divisional teams including Islamabad, Kohat, Sargodha, Mardan in Pool A and Karachi, Rawalpindi, Mirpur Khas and Fata in Pool B will take part in Inter-Divisional National Basketball Championship Grade B on the same dates April 10-14 in Islamabad.
