Ex-Olympians ask PM to intervene in PHF affairs

LAHORE: Former hockey Olympians has asked Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is also patron of PHF, to take notice of irregularities in Pakistan Hockey Federation and being the patron of PHF.

A group of former Olympians organised a Pakistan Olympians a forum at Lahore Press Club, demanded a forensic audit of the PHF accounts, findings of which should be made public. Former Olympians said the PHF officials should apologise for their unconstitutional practices illegal recruitments. They said that instead of stepping down over poor performance in the World Cup, Champions Trophy, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games, they are inclined to do more damage to the game of hockey and the federation alike.

The forum on hockey was organised and attended by Olympians Manzoor Junior, Khawaja Tariq Aziz, Khawaja Zakauddin, Rasheed Junior, Hanif Khan, former Sindh minister Dr Javed Ali Shah, former PHF secretary Col (retd) Mudassar Asghar, Saleem Nazim, Wasim Faroze, Khawaja Junaid, Khalid Bashir, Naveed Alam, M Saqlain Gulfraz Khanm Dr SA Majid, Hhaider Hussain, Ali Abbas and officials from Balochistan and KP. They also accuse Shahbaz Senior, secretary PHF, for bringing bad name to the country through poor performances.
