The government has declared an M-tag compulsory for travellers on M-1 and M-2 motorways from May 2, 2019 with a view to avoid long queues at toll plazas and to maintain smooth flow of traffic.
Today at around 8:30pm, I was travelling from Islamabad to Bhurban and tried to get an M-tag for my car from the container installed just half a kilometre before the toll plaza. It was a very unpleasant experience to note that there was no electricity in the container and many commuters interested to get an M-tag for their vehicles were refused by the concerned staff due to this. Is this situation justified? Would the concerned authorities look into this?
