Luis Rodriguez picking Pak players for World Soccer Stars matches
KARACHI: English FA coach Louis Rodriguez has begun quest for picking a bunch of Pakistani players to play alongside World Soccer Stars later this month in a couple of matches to be be held in Karachi and Lahore.
"World Soccer Stars has taken the initiative of running a national talent hunt programme to feature local players with World Soccer Star legends which will help in uplifting their learning of soccer and inspire them to achieve more," said TouchSky Group, the organisers of the World Soccer Stars.
Louis has already supervised trials in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He will do so in Quetta on Monday (today), in Lahore on Tuesday (tomorrow) and on April 20 in Karachi. Luis will be assisted by Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) coaches.
"I am so surprised with the number of talented players in just one city. There is a drive for football here that is not easily found everywhere and its heartening to see how young individuals are committed to make their football dreams a reality," Louis said after conducting trials in Rawalpindi.
As many as ten local players will be selected. Ahmer Kunwar of TSG-World Soccer Stars said: "Getting local talent to play with World Soccer Stars is an effort to stimulate their football passion and inspire them to do more." World Soccer Stars is a showcase football match and AKON concert all under one roof to be held in Karachi on April 27 and in Lahore on April 28.
