Chakwal jeep rally to enthral motorists

Islamabad : In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, extensive measures are being taken for the promotion of tourism in Punjab and tourists attraction events are being arranged in various parts of Punjab on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. In this connection(Chakwal Lake District 4x4 Jeep Rally) will be arranged on Saturday and Sunday (April 6 & 7). Professional racers from all over the country will take part in this event.

This was said by Punjab Minister for Tourism and Higher Education Raja Yasir Hamayun Sarfraz while addressing a Press Conference at Punjab House, Islamabad. He said eight more tourists destinations including Kotli Sattian, Chakwal, Jhelum, Suleman Range and Bahawalpur are being introduced. He said Cholistan Jeep Rally is the big tourists attraction event of South Punjab and now this event has been acknowledged at the international level. On the same pattern Chakwal Jeep Rally will be promoted at the international level that will boost local economy and create jobs. He said Chakwal Jeep Rally will be held on the 20 km long hilly track which passes through difficult terrains. Raja Yasir Hamayun said Chakwal has 26 attractive lakes and for this reason it has been declared as the Lake District. He said Chakwal has 110 tourists points which are being mapped and properly marked and they will be developed further in future. He said fool proof security arrangements will be made at lake points, and swimming and fish hunting activities will be offered to the tourists in the lakes within due legal limits and security measures. To a question, he said Search Committee is working to fill 12 vacant posts of VCs in Public Universities and this process will start within a month. To another question, he said before handing over, Governor House Murree to private management, it will be closely monitored and ensured that this heritage building is kept intact and well protected. He said Governor Punjab does not use Governor House Islamabad for residential purpose and only office work is done there.

The media persons were introduced to the racers participating in the rally. The Minister also took a test ride in the racing jeep.
