Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that after addressing the grand Larkana jalsa, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will visit Islamkot on April 10 to formally inaugurate a 660-megawatt coal power project and will address a large gathering in Ghotki on April 12.
In a press statement on Friday, he said that the inauguration of power generation from Thar coal was historically important because the project was conceived and founded by then prime minister Benazir Bhutto in 1996 and the present PPP government in Sindh had realized her dream of “Roshan Thar, Roshan Sindh and Roshan Pakistan”
The adviser noted that a formal inauguration ceremony for adding 660 megawatts of electricity to national grid would be held on Wednesday.
He said Benazir Bhutto had laid down the foundation stone of the Thar coal project back in 1996, but unfortunately it was abandoned by the then federal government following the unconstitutional removal of the PPP government.
He said that it was an historic occasion that the PPP had transformed this project of national importance into reality after hectic efforts and the party chairman would have the honour to formally inaugurate it.
Barrister Wahab said that after the public gathering in Larkana and the Islamkot visit, Bilawal would address the mammoth public gathering at the Sindh-Punjab border in the Ghotki district on April 12.
He said that the public gathering of Ghotki had been announced on the appeal of the elected assembly members, office-bearers and workers of the PPP belonging to Ghotki district. The adviser said the people of Ghotki were jubilant and grateful to their beloved leader and added that the Ghotki jalsa would prove a milestone in the history of country.
