DERA GHAZI KHAN: Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar, the father of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, died of cardiac arrest at the THQ Hospital in Taunsa Sharif on Monday.
He was 80. He was a three-time former MPA. He had started his political career as an independent candidate in 1985 while he won the 2002 and 2008 general elections on the PML-Q tickets. He also remained chief of the Buzdartribe after the death of his father Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Buzdar. Sardar Fateh Buzdar obtained an MA degree in Political Science from the University of Karachi in 1964. He was a farmer by profession.
His funeral prayer was offered at the Government College, Taunsa Sharif, which was attended by CM Sardar Usman Buzdar, Jahangir Tareen, provincial ministers Sardar Mohsin Leghari, Mehmoodur Rasheed, Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dareshak, CM Spokesman Dr Shahbaz Gill, the Punjab chief secretary, the IGP, MNAs Kh Sheeraz Mehmood, Sardar Jafar Leghari, Ashraf Khan Rind, Ghulam Murtaza, Raheem Khar, Malik Qasim Hinjra Alamdar Qureshi, Ahmed Ali Olakh, Sardar Ahmed Ali Dareshak, the commissioner, the regional police officer, the deputy commissioner and other officers.
His funeral prayer was also offered at Barthi, which was attended by Provincial Minister Samiullah Chaudhry, chief of Qaisrani tribe Sardar Mir Badshah Qaisrani, Sardar Ahmed Ali Dareshak, principal secretary to chief minister, additional chief secretary, heads of various departments and thousands of tribesmen. Later, he was buried at his native graveyard of Tuman Buzdar.
Agencies add: President Arif Alvi, Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif among others offered their condolences over the demise of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Shahbaz Sharif telephoned Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and expressed condolence. During the telephonic conversation, the PML-N president prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Shahbaz said that many people including Usman Buzdar telephoned him and expressed condolences when his father Mian Sharif had died.

In a joint statement issued Monday, Pakistan Muslim League-Q President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and MNA Moonis Elahi expressed their heartfelt condolences over demise of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar, father of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi telephoned Sardar Usman Buzdar and expressing heartfelt grief on behalf of his family over demise of CM’s father Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar, said that we share your grief. Late Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar was a great gentleman and our families have old relations. He prayed for eternal rest in peace for the departed soul and solace and patience for the bereaved family.
Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar in a condolence message expressed grief over the death of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar. Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab (OPC) Punjab Vice-Chairperson Ch Waseem Akhtar expressed condolences with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and prayed for the departed soul. He will always be remembered for his untiring efforts for his tribal area, said Waseem Akhtar.
IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi has expressed grief over the demise of the father of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and prayed that May Allah grant the departed soul the highest ranks in Jannah and may He give patience and strength to the bereaved family.
Moreover, the IG Police directed RPO DG Khan to ensure the security arrangements for the persons who come for condolences and also manage security arrangements in this regard so that the public may be saved from any trouble.
