For the first time in the history of the Sindh police, transgender persons will be provided jobs in the law enforcement department.
Sindh police chief Dr Syed Kaleem Imam announced this through a press statement issued on Monday. He said the Mazoor (Disabled) Quota in the Sindh police was also being restored. The IGP said that transgender persons would perform duties in different offices, and soon departmental initiatives would be taken to restore the Mazoor Quota in the department.
Dr Imam also announced that necessary steps will be taken to provide jobs to people belonging to the minority communities because the role of different communities in society has the value of being the backbone to curb the menace of crime from society.
He said that efforts are being made for better policing and a public-friendly environment at police stations. The IGP also lauded the sacrifices of the police martyrs for bringing peace to the city.
He said that a summary has been forwarded to the provincial government regarding the police’s education quota and residential schemes. He said that a facility to take out loans on easy instalments will also be introduced.
