HELD SRINAGAR: Six people were killed and another was critically injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Rajouri district of Indian occupied Kashmir on Sunday.
According to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the accident occurred at Ujhan-Dhandkote in Darhal area around 12.30 am when the driver of the private vehicle, which was on its way to village Sabzi, lost control while negotiating a turn, a police official said.
According to him, local residents launched a rescue operation immediately and were joined by a team of doctors and paramedics. Four people were found dead, while three others were rescued in critical condition. Two of the injured died at community health centre, Darhal. The critically injured person was referred to Jammu for specialised treatment.
