The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute says triggers may include:
* Being under emotional stress.
* Being exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
* Eating a heavy meal.
* Smoking tobacco or using cocaine.
* Taking medication that narrows blood vessels.
