The harrowing case of Asma Aziz in Lahore, who was allegedly beaten and tortured by her husband and ignored by the police shows the state of the women in our country. These horrifying experiences are part of our society. Some strong, vocal women are, however, continuing to march for their rights. Equality should prevail between men and women; even Islam has taught us this. We need to give respect women on the same level as men. For this, we need conversations now on how to bring sustainable results
