LAHORE: A man subjected his wife to torture and shaved her head with the abetment of his friend over her refusal to dance in front of his friends in the Kahna police limits on Wednesday.
Police have arrested both the accused and registered a case against them. Victim Asma of Defence married accused Mian Faisal four years back. The accused used to invite his friends at home and force the victim to dance in front of them. Over refusal, he used to torture her and call her names. A couple of days back, he once again forced her to dance in front of his friends. Over refusal, he first subjected her to severe torture and later shaved her head in front of a servant. As the news of the incident flashed, Punjab IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi took notice and sought a detailed report from Lahore police.
According to report, the FIR of the incident had been registered on March 26 in which the woman implicated accused Faisal and Rashid. On the notice of IG Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi, CCPO, DIG investigation and DIG operations Lahore took quick action and arrested both the nominated accused and recovered weapon of crime from their possession. On the directions of IGP, Lahore Police started inquiry into the incident and a detail report will be submitted to after completion of the inquiry. IG Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi directed the DIG operations and investigation Lahore to provide all kinds of protection to the affected woman also cooperate with her at every level. The IGP directed to include police officials concerned in investigation in the light of statement given by the affected woman.
