SHC grants protective bail to former city administrator
The Sindh High Court on Wednesday granted protective bail to former Karachi administrator in a case of threatening police personnel.
Fahim Zaman was booked for threatening cops in the city’s Red Zone a day earlier. According to the police, cops deployed for snap-checking vehicles at the PIDC check post demanded an identity card of the former administrator, but he refused to do so and threatened the cops with dire consequences and abused them.
The applicant’s counsel submitted that his client was falsely implicated in the case
and booked by the police due to enmity. He said no incident of threatening took place in a fashion as alleged in the FIR.
He said the applicant wanted to surrender to the trial court, but he apprehended his arrest at the hands of the police. The court granted protective bail to Zaman for 10 days to approach the relevant court and seek remedy in accordance with the law.
