Headmistress ordered to continue improving academic activities From Our Correspondent JHANG: The Education Department has directed the Government Girls Elementary School, Hassan Khan, headmistress to continue improving academic activities besides providing conducive atmosphere to the students by rejecting outside and inside pressure, the sources said. They said that the school was situated in the far flung area of Jhang tehsil and was functioning without the headmistress. Getting advantage of the situation, the owner of a private school of the area managed to increase enrolment of his school. Later, the Education Department during recruitment process filled the vacant positions of teachers along with headmistress of the government school. After this, the enrolment and academic activities of the government school started improving, making the private school owner unhappy, the sources added. Resultantly, the Education Department started receiving applications against the AEO and the headmistress, the sources added. When the applications were rejected by the high-ups, some people met the EDO for transfer of the headmistress and the AEO but the EDO told them that the people, whose children were studying in the private school, had no legal and moral right to interfere into the government school matters. Meanwhile, talking to journalists, Education EDO Naseem Zahid said that the school headmistress would be provided extra support to deal with the miscreants. District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Kausar Naseem said that the locals should pay due respect to the female teachers, who came from city localities to teach their kids by spending sufficient amount from their monthly salaries as transport expenses.
