Three shot dead in Mardan
MARDAN: Three persons, including two brothers, were shot dead and two others sustained injuries when two groups traded gunfire in Mayar village over women’s-related dispute in the limits of Hoti Police Station on Tuesday, police sources said.
The sources said that two armed groups led by Nazir Gul and his sons Zamir Gul and Hussain Mohib exchanged harsh words with one Noorul Basar and his sons Bahadur Sher, Mohammad Sher and Khalid.
Sources added that on Tuesday morning both the groups started trading heavy gunfire. As a result, three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries. The dead were identified as Anwar Ali, Qaiser Ali and Hazrat Ali while Jabbar and Yousaf were injured. The injured were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex and the District Headquarters Hospital. The sources added that both the groups were inter-related.
The sources added that the mother of the deceased Anwar Ali and Qaiser Ali told police that her sons were present outside their house when the accused started firing on them. As a result, they died on the spot while a passerby Yousaf was injured.
Nazir Gul told police that the accused killed his son Hazrat Ali and injured his grandson Jabbar. The police registered two separate cases and started the investigation.
