FAISALABAD: A woman was accidentally killed by her seven-year-old son at Liaqatabad on Monday.
Azan was playing with his father’s pistol mistaking it for a toy when it suddenly went off. As a result, his mother Hina Fatima, wife of Rizwan, died on the spot. On the other hand, the victim’s sister Naseem Bibi alleged that Hina was murdered by her husband. After preliminary investigation, Jhang Bazaar police took the boy and his father Rizwan into custody.
Anti-polio campaign: The district administration has launched a special anti-polio campaign in which more than 700,000 children will be administered polio drops.
The campaign has been launched for the children who are under five years of age. In this connection, Assistant Commissioner City Shumaila Manzoor visited the government dispensary at Bole De Jhugi, Sheikhupura Road, and personally checked the polio drive.
MPA Shakil Shahid was also with her. The AC and the MPA administered polio drops to the children and directed the polio teams to administer polio drops to each and every child. The AC appealed to the parents to cooperate with the polio teams and administer polio drops to their children.
Meanwhile, MPA Firdous Rai inaugurated the anti-polio campaign at General Bus Stand. Regional Transport Authority Secretary Zameer Hussain, Mubashar Butt, representatives of NGOs and others were also present.
The MPA administered the polio drops to the children and said that every polio round had its significance. The RTA secretary asked the transporters to cooperate with the polio teams.
