LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said the government has decided to make foolproof security of passengers at bus stands.
He said that a special strategy had been devised with the collaboration of the district administration and transport owners under which special arrangements would be made for the protection of life and property of passengers. Similarly, the security system of bus stands would be improved and strict measures be taken for the security of masses at bus stops, he added.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of a representative delegation of transport owners and organisations at committee room of Civil Secretariat. Secretary Transport Shaukat Khan and RTA were also attended the meeting.
The Secretary Transport said that walkthrough gates and metal detectors have been provided at bus stands while CCTV cameras have also been installed. The transporters informed the minister that due to rush of motorcycle rickshaws, rickshaws and tongas, any incident can occur therefore traffic police should play its role in ending rush and maintain smooth flow of traffic.
Bilal Yasin assured that district administration and traffic police would be activated for maintaining smooth flow of traffic at rush places so that terrorists cannot succeed in their nefarious designs.
