KARACHI: Senate’s eight-member committee for football development on Wednesday held its first meeting at the committee room of the Senate Secretariat Islamabad.
Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, who is the convener of the committee, chaired the meeting. Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) president Ashfaq Hussain Shah also attended the meeting.
Ashfaq told ‘The News’ that he was told how they could help develop football. Ashfaq told the committee that the PFF would need a ground where it could establish an academy which would help in football development in the country. The committee also includes senators Shibli Faraz, Mohammad Ali Saif, Dilawar Khan, Ahmed Khan, Asad Ashraf and Mirza Afridi.
Ashfaq said that the members of the committee promised that they would extend every support to the PFF in developing the game in the country. Ashfaq said that his PFF had no issue but the only problem was from FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). “Once they recognise our body, you will see how we develop the game,” said Ashfaq
