Call to implement NAP
LAHORE: Tehrik Nifaz Fiqh Jafaria (TNFJ) has demanded implementation on National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit to rid the country of extremism and terrorism, saying that demands of bringing banned groups into mainstream by certain leaders and government officials were contrary to NAP.
This was the crux of the response by TNFJ president Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosvi to the recent situation which his spokesman Hasan Kazmi released to media in a statement here on Monday. Kazmi said survival of state depended on trying and punishing all the terrorist and banned groups, and shunning the efforts by certain quarters to bring them into mainstream politics. He said TNFJ demanded that all 30 points of NAP must be implemented which was formulated with national consensus after APS Peshawar tragedy. He lamented that banned groups could not be practically banned and were working with new and old names, while some were moving under state protocol. He said some leaders were either excluded from fourth schedule while some who were still under it were making public speeches and free movement. He said cases against many banned group leaders were not being pursued actively in courts while those leaders who were accused of promoting religious and sectarian hatred were also not properly tried and punished.
