A meeting of Pakistan Poultry Association held on Saturday expressed concerns on the Federal Budget 2015-16, says a press release.
All the office-bearers of Pakistan Poultry Association and farmers attended the meeting to review the budget. They all resented the levy of 5% sales tax on poultry feed and 10% sales tax and 10% custom duty on Soybean meal.
The warned the government that if the taxes were not withdrawn then the prices of chicken and eggs would sore very high. They said they were not taken into confidence in budget preparation and the new taxes were unjustified.
The office-bearers of Pakistan Poultry Association have appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to play his role in saving the poultry industry from complete annihilation and depriving the people of Pakistan from cheap source of protein.
