PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday stopped the salaries of the secretary Secondary and Elementary Education Department, chairman and secretary Public Service Commission for non-compliance with the court order.
A division bench comprising Justice Irshad Qaiser and Justice Musarrat Hilali issued the order. The bench issued the directives in a writ petition filed by Arshad Malik, in which he stated he had given a written test for a post of Assistant District Officer of BPS-16 in the Education Department in February 22, 2010. He claimed that merit was not followed in the appointment against which he filed the petition.
The petitioner’s lawyer said on June 4, 2013 the high court had ordered the Education Department and Public Service Commission to provide the marks sheet, merit list and interview list for the post. He pointed out that despite repeated notices of the court, the officials concerned did not provide the details and ignored the orders of the court.
