PESHAWAR: Former federal minister Amir Muqam on Friday appeared before a team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and recorded his statement in connection with an inquiry concerning the Shangla-Bisham road project.
A source in the FIA said that Amir Muqam, the provincial president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), remained in the FIA’s office for over two hours for questioning. A questionnaire was also handed over to him and was told to return it in 14 days, the source added. The FIA has launched an inquiry into the alleged corruption and irregularities in the long-delayed road project. The road could not be completed despite the passage of 10 years. The people have been complaining about the delay and demanding completion of work. Amir Muqam, who belongs to Shangla district, has been in the construction business for years.
