NAB Sukkur files reference on Rs45m corruption
SUKKUR: After finding clues of misappropriation in the Irrigation Scheme accounts, the NAB Sukkur has filed a reference of Rs 45 million corruption against the irrigation officials of Hala Division on Friday.
The News has learnt that the NAB after investigating the irrigation scheme at Hala Division in Shahdadpur has found some clues of corruption worth Rs45 million and filed a reference against the Secretary Irrigation Junaid Ahmed Memon, Executive Engineer Hala Division Ashiq Ali Lakhan, other government officials and contractors including Arshad Wahab Shah, Saeed Jaghirani,Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Hassan Bhugio, Bashir Ahmed Dasti, Javed Dasti, Mumtaz Ali Memon and Ghulam Rasool Memon.
The NAB has maintained that the above officials have released payment to the contractors in advance while multiple irregularities in the irrigation scheme in Shahddapur were found. The NAB Court, Sukkur, has summoned the accused parties on 22 March 2019.
