Govt can’t pardon banned outfits: Moosavi
ISLAMABAD: The Chief of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya (TNFJ) Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said on Monday that rulers had no authority to forgive those who shed the blood of innocent persons.
“The proscribed parties, joining the national mainstream will have to face punishment under Qisas and Diyat and only families of Shuhada have the right to forgive them,” he emphasised while speaking at a mourning meeting in connection with the martyrdom of Imam Ali Naqi.
Moosavi said, “those who are calling for bringing the proscribed parties into national mainstream should also open the doors of all jails. There are lakhs of followers of Mian Nawaz Sharif and the opposition; why not the government forgives them, who had not shed the blood of anyone”. He contended giving away certificates of innocence to banned parties tantamount to wasting the blood of Shuhada and rubbing salt in wounds of their family members. “The government should not repeat the policy of good and bad Taliban of the Musharraf era as terrorist is only a terrorist; neither is he bad, nor Shia, Sunni, Deobandi or Barelvi; he is only a terrorist and should be dealt with accordingly,” he noted.
