DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was subjecting former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to political victimisation in the name of accountability.
“This injustice should be stopped forthwith,” he demanded while speaking at a press conference here.
The Maulana said the government should allow the former three-time prime minister to seek treatment abroad. He urged the state institutions to stop supporting such a government that was victimising its political rivals.
Commenting on the prevailing state of affairs at the Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan, he said the highest seat of learning had been politicised.
The JUI-F chief added that his party would hold ‘million marches” in North Waziristan and Sargodha on March 24 and 31, respectively.
Fazlur Rehman said that a meeting of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal had been convened to take stock of the prevailing political situation in the country.
He said that their movements were not aimed at creating problems for the people. However, he said that it could lead to law and order if the government tried to hamper their efforts.
He also warned the government against promoting “dance and music.” He said his party would resist any bid to promote vulgarity in the country.
The Maulana said that nobody would be allowed to change the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat law
