Pakistani politicians were unified when we were on the brink of war with India, but the moment the situation stabilised the politicians are back to square one. If you happen to watch the National Assembly or provincial assemblies sessions, you will be thoroughly demoralised. The so-called democracy is not working in the favour of the people. Ordinary citizens are bearing the brunt of inflated gas bills with no respite.
Prices of almost all essential items have skyrocketed. All vegetables are out of the reach of the majority. The new government has so far failed on all fronts to bring some real change in Naya Pakistan. Verbal abuses against each other and minor brawls among politicians have become a common practice. No one is ready to bring any change in the lives of the people. The finance minister has failed to do anything better than the previous regime and introduce pro-poor policies. It is time the authorities concerned took relevant steps to bring a positive change in the country.
